Emolzadockulayah...and Spwite

It was a warm and breezy September day in Eelez. Emolzadockulayah and her friend Spwite were walking through the parking lot of a large department store towards the main entrance. They were both going to buy new clothes for school; Emolzadockulayah was holding a list of dress code requirements. She looked at the list and frowned.

"This is an odd dress code," she said.

"Well, I'm sure it might seem strange to you," Spwite replied.

"But really! The dress code is supposed to allow for individuality, but this?"

"What does it say?" Spwite asked. Emolzadockulayah read aloud from the sheet of paper in her hand.

"All students must where the uniform skirt and a dark blue/white long sleeved shirt."

         "Sounds normal to me."

"Well, I still think there's something a little fishy about it."

"Yeah, whatever," the two friends reached the entrance hall of the department store and paused.

"Let's meet back here in two hours; that should be plenty of time," said Spwite. Emolzadockulayah agreed readily to the plan and they each parted to different sides of the store.

Emolzadockulayah lost no time in beginning her search. She checked everywhere without success. At last she approached a worker and asked,

"Excuse me; do you know where I could find long sleeved shirts that have both white and dark blue on them?"

"White and dark blue? Are you sure you don't mean one or the other?"

"I'm quite sure. In fact, I need a dark blue pattern on a white background...or maybe the other way round..."

"I see, hmm...I'm afraid we don't have any on the shelves but there is one place you might try."

         "Where?"

"You see that counter over there? They sell custom shirts. You give them a design, tell them what colors to use, and they'll get you the shirt in about an hour."

"Wow, cool! Thanks!" Emolzadockulayah turned away and hurried across the store

There was no line at the counter so Emolzadockulayah walked right up.

"Oh, hello! How can I help you?" asked the person behind the counter.

"I heard you sold custom designed shirts."

"Yes of course. Do you want a picture or logo on it, or do you want one solid color?"

"How about I draw you something and you print it on."

"Sure," he handed Emolzadockulayah a pencil and paper. She put the paper down on the counter and paused, unsure of what to draw.

She began to write down the calculations of her latest machine. She knew them by heart, so many times had she read them over and corrected them. She kept writing for several minutes, until six sheets of paper had been covered with graphs, equations, and notations. When she was finally finished, she handed them over to the person behind the counter.

"Print these in white on a navy blue background please. Or maybe it should be blue on a white background? The dress code was so odd!"

"Do two of each," she told him. In her mind, she thought to herself, "I wonder if any of the other girls at school will have the blueprints for a teleporter on their shirts?"
